FA Cup Final picture quality

I didn't see the game live on ITV1 HD as I was at Wembley enjoying it for real, but I saw the highlights later in the evening and thought the picture looked nothing special. I then checked the Info box and it said "upscaled HD". Did ITV not cover the game in high definition? I can understand the camera that zooms down almost to pitch level being a standard def camera (actually looked quite small from where I was sitting) but surely they shot the game and studio with HD cameras? What did others think?

Thought the picutre quality was poor. It was certainly not HD. Having seen a friends sky hd picutre it was way short. Bering in mind the v+ box upscales standard def anyway, what is the point of the HD channels if they are not HD?

I flicked between ITV and ITV HD and the picture quality was a lot better IMO.

I saw a little of the game live and it was definitely hd but recorded the highlights on itvhd which definitely wasn't hd. Don't understand why they aired the highlights in sd when they obviously had access to hd content!

Same as mattbuk switched from ITV to ITV HD and HD was definitely better, waving flags in crowd were just a blur on ITV, switched to HD and each flag stood out sharp.

sadly for all the HD / SD / Widescreen / B&W guff it didn't change the result. For the record I saw fat frank missing his spot kick in a shop windows and the rest was in glorious text-o-vision in the Observer Sport section.

I really wanted Portsmouth to win. When Portsmouth got the penalty I was jumping up and down like a mad man lol.

I am a Manchester United fan so that explains it lol.

To be fair Chelsea deserved it this season. But we will get it back next session.

I was at Old Trafford for the final game against Stoke - they kept it underwraps that Chelsea had scored until 2 minutes after we scored and they started dancing - muppets lol.

I take it your a Chelsea fan Nialli?
